A cookie is a short string of text a website asks your browser to remember. Riffblox uses a deliberately small set of cookies — the bare minimum needed to keep the site working and to understand which pages help our visitors and which don’t.
The four kinds of cookies we may set
Strictly necessary
These keep the site functional. They store your session, your CSRF token (so your quote form doesn’t get tampered with), and your cookie-banner choice. They cannot be disabled because nothing else works without them. We rely on the legitimate interest basis for these — they don’t identify you.
Preference
If you happen to express a preference — language, contrast mode, hidden banners — we’ll keep that choice for your next visit. These cookies expire after 90 days.
Analytics
We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool that aggregates page views, source country and device type. No individual user is identifiable; we don’t store an IP address beyond truncation. If you reject non-essential cookies, no analytics token is set at all.
Marketing
Riffblox does not run retargeting, ad-network pixels or behavioural marketing on this site. We don’t set marketing cookies. If that ever changes, you’ll see the banner ask you again.
The actual cookies on this site
- PHPSESSID — session identifier, expires when you close the browser. Strictly necessary.
- rb_cc_v1 — remembers your accept / reject choice on the banner. Expires after 6 months. Strictly necessary.
- _p_pageview — anonymous analytics ping, written only if you accept analytics. Expires after 12 months.
How to change your mind
Click the gear icon at the bottom-left of any page on this site to reopen the cookie banner. You can also clear the cookies via your browser settings — the banner will then re-appear on your next visit so you can choose again.
Third-party cookies
This site embeds Google Fonts CSS for typography. Google Fonts does not set cookies for visitors but logs anonymised font requests. We do not embed any other third-party domain (no maps, no chat widgets, no social embeds), which is a deliberate choice to keep the cookie footprint small.
