HomeServicesSpecialist Cargo

The cargo that doesn’t fit a standard container

Heavy-lift, oversized, hazardous, fragile, perishable and time-critical. The shipments that need a route plan, not a booking line.

Multi-axle low-loader carrying a large yellow mining excavator on a Malaysian highway

Specialist cargo is where Riffblox earns its money. Anything where the question isn’t “which sailing” but “how do we even get this onto a vessel” — that’s our team. We’ve loaded 78-tonne hydraulic presses onto chartered RoRo, walked yachts onto flat-racks at Westport, and flown emergency replacement bearings from KLIA to Adelaide in eleven hours flat.

Each project move gets a written route plan, a named project manager and a marine warranty surveyor where the underwriters require one.

What we move

Heavy-lift & oversized

Mining and quarrying equipment, transformers, generator sets, modular building components, pressure vessels. Multi-axle low-loader transport with pilot vehicle and JKR escort permits coordinated by our team.

Yacht & boat haulage

Cradle-loaded yachts on flat-rack or RoRo from Sutera Harbour, Straits Quay and Puteri Harbour. Cradle fabrication, lashing and yacht-prep through our partner yard at Pulau Indah.

Fine art & high-value

Climate-controlled crating, dual-driver airport-to-airport runs, hard-sided cases with shock and tilt indicators. Discreet documentation handling for private collections and gallery loans.

Pharma & clinical trial

Cold-chain shipments with continuous logging, GDP-aligned SOPs, and validated couriers for clinical samples. Riffblox sits inside the IATA CEIV pharma framework on our chill-room operations.

Dangerous goods

IMDG and IATA Cat. 6 certified team. Lithium batteries, paints, perfumes, hazardous waste, radioactive isotopes (Class 7) with prior MoH approval. We don’t outsource the declaration to a third party.

Time-critical & AOG

Aircraft-on-ground spares moved next-flight-out from KLIA, KCH or PEN with dedicated hand-carry by an OBC (on-board courier) when the value of the downtime justifies it.

How a project move runs

  1. Pre-survey at origin: a Riffblox engineer or local agent inspects the cargo, takes measurements and photographs and confirms lifting points.
  2. Route study: highway clearance heights, bridge tonnage, port crane reach and destination unloading method are checked and signed off.
  3. Engineered loading plan: drawn lift plan, lashing scheme and stowage drawing approved by a marine warranty surveyor where applicable.
  4. Permits and escorts: JKR oversized-load permit, JPJ escort booking, port-state notice of arrival, and any export licence handled by our team.
  5. Execution: project manager on the dock or tarmac, with a single WhatsApp group for client, surveyor and operations.
  6. Closing pack: photo report, port-out and port-in tally sheets, surveyor’s certificate and signed delivery POD.
